Non-unique email addresses now allowed in Gmail contacts

You can now associate an email address with more than one contact in Gmail's contact manager.

Standard, Premier, Education, Team and Partner Editions
Languages included:
All languages supported by Gmail
How to access what's new:
Click 'Contacts' from your Gmail inbox, and select '+' to create a new contact. Enter your contact's information and click 'Save'. It is now possible to create another contact with a different 'Name', but same 'Email'.
