Use the Google Classroom Mobile App in additional languages

What’s changing
We’re excited to announce that we’re expanding the language availability for the Google Classroom mobile app on Android and iOS to the following languages:
- Afrikaans
- Assamese
- French Canadian
- Icelandic
- Kazakh
- Swahili
Additional details
The languages above will be available on the web version of Google Classroom in the coming weeks. We will provide an update on the Workspace Updates Blog when this feature becomes generally available.
Getting started
- Admins and end users:
- The language in the Classroom mobile app is based on a user's language settings for their mobile device. Visit these support articles to learn more about changing app language on your Android phone or iOS phone.
- Visit the Help Center to learn more about getting started with Google Workspace for Education and supported languages for Google Classroom.
Rollout pace
- Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) starting on March 24, 2025

Available for Google Workspace:
- Education Fundamentals, Standard, Plus, and the Teaching and Learning add-on, Endpoint Education add-on
- Customers with the Gemini Education or Gemini Education Premium add-on
