“Master” view in Google Slides renamed to “Theme Builder”

Quick summary
We’re renaming the “Master” view in Google Slides to “Theme Builder”. This change better communicates the benefits: to help users quickly customize the font, color, and layout customization for their current theme, ensuring a consistent experience throughout the presentation.
Further, it eliminates a non-inclusive term from our products, helping us build toward our goal of having inclusive language throughout Google Workspace products.
Getting started
- Admins: No action required.
- End users: You can access the Theme Builder in Google Slides by going to View > Theme builder. Visit the Help Center to learn more about using Theme builder to create template slides.
Rollout pace
- Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) starting on May 25, 2021
Availability
- Available to all Google Workspace customers, as well as G Suite Basic and Business customers
