With the release of our new Gemini 3.1 Flash Text-To-Speech (TTS) model, AI voiceovers in Google Vids now include 30 new conversational voice options that better capture natural expression and realism. All 30 AI voiceover options are now supported in 24 different languages.

You can test these new voices in your next video project by adding emotional instructions like "Read this like you're excited," using bracket notation for pacing like "This [pause] is amazing!" or including sound effects like "[laugh] That was a great point."

Expanded languages
AI voiceovers is expanding support to 16 new languages: English (en-US, en-IN), Arabic, Bengali, Dutch, Hindi, Indonesian, Marathi, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

These languages join the previously supported languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, French, Italian, and German.

Now when you import Slides into Google Vids with Gemini enabled, you can see and edit your AI-generated scripts for each slide before completing the import, generating voiceovers, and applying animations. Previously, these edits could only be made after the import process was finished.

This update allows you to:

  • Refine your narrative early: Review and adjust the AI-generated script or choose to use your original speaker notes for each slide before the video draft is created.
  • Save time and effort: By making script adjustments up front, you reduce the need for back-and-forth editing once the video is in the main editor.
  • Customize voiceovers: Ensure the generated voiceover perfectly matches your intended message by finalizing the text before the audio is generated.

Whether you are turning a sales deck into a quick pitch or transforming a lesson plan into an educational video, this change provides a more streamlined workflow for creating high-quality video content from your existing presentations.

Getting started

  • Admins: There is no admin control for this feature. Visit the Help Center to learn more.
  • End users: This feature will be ON by default and can be disabled by the user in the Convert Slides workflow. To see the script editing screen, users must have the "Include AI voiceover, script, and background music" toggle enabled. You can now publish the videos you create in Google Vids directly to YouTube. This saves you a few steps - previously you would export the project as an MP4 file, then go to YouTube to upload the file.

Whether you are creating marketing videos, training materials, or educational content, this feature reduces manual effort and simplifies the publishing process.

To maintain security and provide creative control, all exported videos are initially set to Private. You can review the content in YouTube Studio before choosing to set the visibility to Public or Unlisted.

Use the new option in the File menu to export your video directly to YouTube.

Getting started

  • Admins: This feature will be available by default to organizations with both YouTube and Google Vids enabled. The feature will not be visible in domains where YouTube is disabled, or “Strict” or “Moderate” restricted modes are enforced. Access to YouTube can be controlled at the domain/OU/group level. This is available at no additional cost to Google Workspace customers and anyone with a personal Google account.

Whether you are capturing a quick walkthrough, a bug report, or a presentation, this extension simplifies the creation process by allowing you to record from any tab without interrupting your workflow. You can record videos up to 30 minutes in length, making it easy to capture thorough walkthroughs or deep dives. Once your recording is complete, you can preview it and then seamlessly open it in Vids to edit and share like any other video.

AI Avatars in Google Vids can deliver your message with a consistent face and voice throughout a video, and they are preferred 5x more often than those on other platforms.

Today we’re excited to announce you can now place avatars in different scenes and have them interact with objects you specify, like your newly released product or a piece of safety equipment. Their faces and voices will remain consistent as you generate different scenes.

You can use avatars in scenarios like:

  1. Annual training: Avatars can explain requirements in training videos while in relevant settings.
  2. Company announcement: Place an avatar in your office by uploading an image.
  3. Sales pitch: Upload an image of your product and direct your avatar to showcase it.

  • Use reference images: Upload two additional images to direct your avatar in customized locations or to use unique objects relevant to your video.

You can now generate custom music in Google Vids, powered by Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro, Google’s latest music generation model.

Using text-based prompting, Vids users can generate clips (about 30 seconds) or longer tracks (up to three minutes) for their video projects. A user might, for instance, need an upbeat, high-tempo track featuring pop-style lyrics tailored for their product pitch. Instead of having to search for the perfect track, now users can simply write a prompt in Vids to create the exact track they’re looking for.

Whether you need music that matches your brand’s style for an internal announcement video or a track for an ad you’re publishing to announce a new product, this capability enhances the overall video creation experience by delivering high-quality music that is highly relevant to your company or organization’s brand and style.

We are increasing the duration limits for Google Vids projects, recordings and imported media clips, giving you more flexibility to create comprehensive video content.

  • Vids projects: The maximum length for any Vids project is now 30 minutes, up from 10 minutes previously.
  • Recordings: The maximum length for any video or audio clip created directly in the Vids recording studio is now 30 minutes.
  • Imports: You can now import video or audio clips up to 95 minutes in length (or up to 4 GB in file size).
Note: While you can import clips up to 95 minutes, you must edit them down to 30 minutes or shorter within Vids to unlock full editing capabilities for that clip.

Why it matters
As video becomes a primary tool for sharing knowledge at work, we want to ensure you have the space to tell your story without technical interruptions. These expanded limits are particularly useful for:

  • Admins: This update reduces the need for users to pre-edit or compress large video files before bringing them into Workspace, ensuring a smoother workflow and better protection for sensitive organizational data within the Vids environment.
  • End users: Whether you are recording a deep-dive training session, a lengthy project post-mortem, or importing a recorded town hall meeting for highlights, these higher limits allow you to capture more context in a single take.

Google Vids is thrilled to announce that AI avatars and voiceovers now support more than just English. Users can now provide input in seven additional languages: French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Japanese. The specific details of each feature are outlined below.

AI avatars

AI avatars in Google Vids enable simple generation of high-quality speakers, preferred five times more often than those on other platforms. Today we’re excited to announce that avatars, previously available only in English, can speak seven additional languages: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Korean, and Japanese.

Anyone can create an avatar video in minutes, saving on both cost and time. Use avatars in scenarios like:

    1. Pitch global clients: Introduce new features to global clients with avatars in their native language.
    2. Educate a global workforce: Update global employees about a new training requirement in Q1.

AI voiceovers

AI Voiceovers in Google Vids allow users to generate realistic narration for their videos by selecting from a range of different presets. Instead of recording their own voice, users can type a script and the feature will return a high-quality voiceover.

Just like avatars, AI voiceovers are now available in seven new languages (in addition to English): Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Korean, and Japanese.

AI avatars in Google Vids provide a fast, cost-effective way to generate high-quality digital speakers. Google Vids is designed to help users share information and tell stories through video. To help more users create professional-quality content, we are making three features in Vids available to all users, regardless of what Workspace edition they use. These features include:

  • Read-along teleprompter: Allows you to read from a script that automatically scrolls as you speak, helping you maintain eye contact with the camera and deliver a more natural performance.
  • Transcript trim: Provides a simple way to edit your video by deleting words or silences directly from the video’s transcript.
  • Styled captions: Lets you choose from a variety of visual styles to render captions directly on your video, making your content more accessible and engaging.
Previously, these features were primarily available to paid Workspace users. This change ensures that users on Workspace editions currently on a promotional period—including Business Starter, Enterprise Starter, Google for Nonprofits, Education Plus, and the Teaching and Learning add-on—will maintain access to these features even after their promotion ends in May 2026. Additionally, users on Workspace editions such as Frontline and Education Fundamentals now have access to these essential video editing features for the first time.

Here’s what’s coming:

  • Infographic: Generate detailed, professional infographics directly in Slides, all with just a simple prompt. Nano Banana Pro is connected to Google Search’s vast knowledge base, meaning it does an incredible job at representing real-world objects and places, all while taking into account the details you describe in your prompt.

  • Beautify this slide: In just a click, “Beautify this slide” turns your ideas into a compelling visual with more accurate, legible text while modeling the look and feel of the overall deck. Like what you see? Simply select “insert as new slide” and the visual will be added directly into your deck as an individual slide.

You can also create complete and polished slide decks directly from your sources and share them as a PDF. See it in action.

Google Vids:

In Google Vids, Nano Banana Pro allows you to generate and edit images with greater precision. With new multi-turn prompting, you can refine your visuals iteratively, helping you create custom, production-ready assets to include in your videos.
