Leveraging the same technology that powers NotebookLM’s Audio Overviews, Gemini app users can now generate podcast-style conversations based on documents, slides, and Deep Research reports. Upload files about topics you want to explore and enjoy dynamic discussions between two AI hosts with unique perspectives.

To create an Audio Overview, simply upload documents or slides on a variety of topics and click the suggestion chip that pops up above the prompt bar. You can listen to these AI-generated discussions to gain new insights and stay informed, even while multitasking. Audio Overview is accessible on the web and in the Gemini mobile app, and you can easily download them to listen on the go.

Audio Overviews enhance learning in a delightful and productive way. Upload class notes, lesson plans, research papers, lengthy email threads, or reports generated by Deep Research and receive an Audio Overview to help summarize your files!
Additional details
- Currently, Audio Overviews is limited to Google Workspace business and education users 18 years and older.
- Currently, Audio Overviews is not available to Workspace customers who’ve signed the HIPAA Business Associate Amendment (BAA).
Getting started
- Admins: There is no admin control for this feature.
- End users: There is no end user setting for this feature. Visit the Help Center to learn more about generating Audio Overviews in the Gemini app.
Rollout pace
- Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) starting on March 31, 2025
