Convert images to video with Veo 3 in Google Vids
What’s changing
With this launch, you can upload an image into Google Vids and input a prompt to convert the image into a high quality eight-second video with sound. This experience uses Veo 3 to create dynamic and engaging content effortlessly by transforming product photography, logos, and more from static shots to engaging short videos based on your instructions.

Getting started
- Admins: This feature will be ON by default for all users that can use Vids. Learn more about turning Vids on or off for users.
- End users: To use this feature, open the right sidebar in Google Vids and select Generate > Upload image. Use our Help Center to learn about using AI to generate video clips in Google Vids.
Rollout pace
- Rapid Release domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) starting on August 27, 2025
- Scheduled Release domains: Full rollout (1–3 days for feature visibility) starting on September 16, 2025.

- For now, the ability to generate a video from an image is not available in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom.

- Nonprofits**
- Gemini Education or Gemini Education Premium add-on
